Course Objectives:   Evaluate a patient with serious burns, define magnitude and severity of burn injury, identify and establish priorities of treatment, manage the airway and support ventilation, initiate and monitor fluid resuscitation, apply correct methods of physiological monitoring, determine which patients should be transferred to a burn center and organize and conduct inter-hospital transfer of a seriously injured burn patient.

CME Credit:  The American Burn Association is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission (ANCC) on Accreditation. The ABA designates this continuing education activity for 7.0 continuing education credit hours.

The American Burn Association is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The American Burn Association designates this educational activity for 7.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s).
